PUPILS and staff past and present of a 100-year-old school will be able to take a trip down memory lane before its closure this summer.

Ysgol Rhewl, near Ruthin, is closing at the end of the summer term and has invited former pupils and staff to bring photographs, documents and their memories to celebrate the school.

A range of resources already archived from previous meet-ups includes class photos and registration log-books, plus the school’s first log-book dated 1918, organised into eras and digitalised for future generations to see.

Former pupils believed to be attending are two World War II evacuees, whom current pupils will have the chance to meet.

Mrs Williams-Lumb, headteacher, said: “I’m honoured to be part of this project.

“It has been interesting for present pupils to go through this process and it’s humbling to have visitors coming in and sharing their stories.”

The event takes place from 2pm-7pm on Friday, July 13.
