A TEENAGER had only himself to blame after failing to comply with a conditional caution he received for an incident outside Rosie's nightclub in Chester.

Jason Pugh, 18, of Village Road, Maeshafn, pleaded guilty at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday, July 13 to being drunk and disorderly and possessing the class B drug ketamine.

But the court heard it would not have been necessary to bring the case before magistrates had Pugh complied with a conditional caution.

Prosecuting, Kate Wilson said it was on February 3 when Pugh was refused admission into Rosie's and he was swearing and shouting.

Ms Wilson said: "A number of efforts were taken to calm him down but he did not comply and he was arrested."

In custody, he had a white bag with ketamine. He accepted he was drunk and had previously taken cocaine.

He had no previous convictions.

Defending, Neil Catherall said Pugh was a man of previous good character, but did not realise the magnitude of failing to comply with the order. He did not consider himself as having a drug problem but now realises the seriousness of his actions.

He was supported in court by his mum.

Magistrates fined Pugh £80, plus £85 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge. The cannabis was to be forfeited and destroyed.
