A SINGAPORE singing group has been crowned the Choir of the World.

Llangollen's 2018 International Eisteddfod concluded with an exciting battle for prestigious titles of Choir of the World and Dance Champions of the World. - and an edgy Baroque performance from special guests, Red Priest.

The Eisteddfod reached its exciting climax, as two international groups won the highest accolades of the festival’s dance and choral competitions.

After a thrilling final, the National University Singapore Choir from Singapore was named as Choir of the World, while Al-lzhar High School Pondok Labu dance group, from Indonesia, was crowned Dance Champions of the World.

Members of the Al-lzhar High School dance group sprung onto the stage to collect the Lucille Armstrong Trophy in a sea of excitement.

The pavilion then erupted as the National University Singapore Choir was announced as Choir of the World 2018 by the International Eisteddfod music director Vicky Yannoula.

The singers stormed the stage to collect the Pavarotti Trophy, cheering loudly in a celebration that was joined by the audience and competitors alike.
