NORTH Wales Police Chief Constable Mark Polin has completed his last shift... and he was involved in an arrest!

Thursday night saw Mr Polin completing his last ever shift in Rhyl, partnering his son PC James Polin.

During a busy night, the chief was involved in an arrest for criminal damage!

North Wales Police tweeted: "And yes true to his word, he got the kebabs in! #GoodLuckSir."

Following his last shift on Thursday evening, Mr Polin will retire from his post to take up the role of chairman of the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

Ahead of Thursday evening, Mr Polin said: "James joined us back in December last year and we will be patrolling in Rhyl which will enable me to check out the town given some of the concerns that were raised to me last year.

"I've said to my son he needs to understand I'm doing the driving and he is doing the paperwork and if I get called back to court I'll be charging the Force rather than the health board!"

Mr Polin came to North Wales back in 2009.

Before moving to North Wales as Chief Constable, Mr Polin was the Deputy Chief Constable of the Gloucestershire Constabulary.
