FARMING equipment towed by a tractor has erupted in flames on a major road.

A trailer, which was being towed on the A525 by a tractor carrying an agricultural air compressor, caught fire near the Bwthyn Bach cottage.

A fire crew from Denbigh attended the incident, on the Ty Coch roundabout heading towards Rhyl, which was started by an electrical fault in the compressor unit.

Despite bringing the fire under control, the compressor was destroyed by the blaze.

The tractor is understood to be undamaged and no one is believed to have been harmed.

A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue said: "We were called to a fire on trailer on the A525 Ty Coch roundabout at 1.45pm on Monday, August 13.

"The incident involved an agricultural air compressor on the trailer, which caused 100 percent fire damage to the equipment."
