AN ANGLICAN cleric has been appointed to a new post.
The Rev Chancellor Pam Powell is the new director of ministry for St Asaph diocese.
She will also be priest-in-charge in the Borderlands mission area.
The Bishop of St Asaph, The Right Rev Gregory Cameron, said: "Pam has already established her capability in identifying and developing lay ministers; now she will have the chance to work with colleagues in developing the future of all ministry – lay and ordained – across the diocese."
Ms Powell has previously worked as director of lay ministry and most as diocesan transition missioner.
She said: "I am delighted to be appointed as the new diocesan director of ministry and to help strengthen our existing ministry from initial discernment to equipping all who become licensed or commissioned to minister in the diocese."
Ms Powell will continue as canon chancellor of St Asaph Cathedral.
She is currently working on the last part of her doctorate in ministry and enjoys going on pilgrimage and leading groups to the island of Iona off the west coast of Scotland, which is famous for its abbey.
