LOVE Island champion Amber Davies will make her West End debut in Dolly Parton's brand new musical 9 to 5.

The 21-year-old from Denbigh, who won the ITV2 reality show in 2017 with her then-partner Kem Cetinay, has been cast as Judy Bernly in the West End premiere which will also star Louise Redknapp, Natalie McQueen and Brian Conley.

9 to 5 will run at the Savoy Theatre from January 28 to August 31 2019.
Amber's sister Jade has also landed a role in festive musical The Wizard of Oz

Amber, a former St Asaph Ysgol Glan Clwyd pupil, tweeted: "Super excited to announce.... being a part of @dollyparton’s 9 to 5 original West End cast is slightly bizarre but I can not wait for this next chapter in my life.

"Dreams come true if you work hard enough."

Amber's mum Susan Davies said: "She had a call about two or three months ago asking if she would be interested and it stemmed from there. She had to wait for a while. I've known for a while - it has been hard keeping it a secret.

"She couldn't believe it when she got the part. Jade, my other daughter, is also joining the cast of The Wizard of Oz with which is amazing for her. I'm just really proud.

"Amber has wanted this for such a long time. She hasn't sung for about 18 months and just because she is a celebrity, it doesn't mean that she doesn't have to audition. She has to audition like everyone else. She has had a wonderful time since coming out of Love Island and has grabbed every opportunity, but this is what she has trained to do."

Susan added: "She is still in touch with Olivia Attwood, Montana Brown and Georgia Harrison. She was in a wonderful position this year and was able to give the new Love Islanders advice when they came out the villa.

"This casting has come at just the right time. She has had a year out since Love Island and she has done so many things, the timing is perfect.

"She gets quite a bit of flack on social media. People want to see her acting and hear what her vocals are like - she is extremely talented. She went to London at the age of 16 to take up a music and drama scholarship.

"I will be there on opening night!"

9 to 5 is inspired by the film and features all original music written Dolly Parton.

The musical tells the story of Doralee, Violet and Judy - three workmates pushed to boiling point by their sexist and egotistical boss.

Concocting a plan to kidnap and turn the tables on their despicable supervisor, will the girls manage to reform their office - or will events unravel when the CEO pays an unexpected visit?
