A FORMER history tutor will deliver a lecture on Lloyd George and Wales during North Wales International Music Festival.
The talk by Rufus Adams, an active figure in the town's Rhyl Music Club and history club, will feature reflective Harp pieces by Gwenllian Llŷr.
Mr Adams has lectured – and published – extensively on Lloyd George throughout Wales, England and at the North American Welsh Festival in Vancouver.
He said: "It will be published and be on sale immediately after the lecture. I will be focusing on Lloyd George's efforts to make Wales better known.
"For example, he was conscious there were Scots and Irish guards since the 18th century but no Welsh guards. They came into being in 1915.
"During the lecture, Gwenllian Llŷr, the London-based Welsh harpist, will play some of Lloyd George's favourite Welsh hymns and Enrico Morrione's haunting Chi Mai, the theme tune from the tv series The Life and Times of David Lloyd George."
There is no charge but audiences will be invited to make a contribution to festival funds. The talk will take place at 11am on Thursday (September 20) at St Asaph Cathedral.
