A RHYL photographer undergoing dialysis was just one the budding talents celebrated in a recent exhibition.

Months of preparation come have finally come fruition for the students studying Level 2 Digital Photography at Coleg Llandrillo’s Abergele campus, with the official launch of their first photographic exhibition.

One of the exhibitors, Ray Dollery of Rhyl, went straight from the classroom for dialysis three times a week – which he has been doing for more than 20 years - during the run-up to the exhibition.

Ray, 59 said: “It is fantastic to see all our prints on the exhibition walls. I have had a fantastic time studying on the courses.

Joining Ray for the exhibition, which ran from Monday, September 3 until Friday 14 at Abergele College on Faenol Avenue, were fellow students Jeff Bargh of Bangor, Emma Cheetham of Abergele, Carita Davies of Prestatyn and Michael Potter of Kinmel Bay.

Ray added: “It has helped me both socially and mentally, as well as improving my photographic skills immensely.”

After staff at Glan Clwyd Hospital saw Ray’s impressive portfolio, they have asked him to put together their Friends of Renal Care annual charity calendar.
