A COMMUNITY council has raised no objection to plans for increased signage at a town shopping centre.

Wrexham Council has received a planning application seeking to install two double sided advertising kiosks and one single sided kiosk at Eagles Meadow in the town centre.

At a Caia Park Community Council, members had no objections to the proposals.

The shopping centre has received a blow this month with the confirmation of a number of big brand store departures from the location, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

Shops including Greggs, Starbucks and Arcadia outlets including Topshop, Burton and Dorothy Perkins have either closed or will close this month.

Commenting on the application at the meeting, Queensway Cllr Brian Halley said: "Perhaps the signs could be put to good use advertising the shops which are going to be empty in the future."
