Once a year Anglesey Circuit opens its doors to the fastest growing motor sport in the world - Drifting.
This coming weekend will see over 150 cars on track for two days of sideways action, making the Drift Matsuri the
biggest Drift event in the UK.
The venue will be divided in to three different tracks to cater for all level of driver skill. The hairpin is where some
will test their new found skills, and the bravest of the experienced drifters will try backwards entry into the
corner.
The Touge Track is popular for multiple cars to run door to door in what are known as “drift trains” over
the undulating track, while the National Track will see entry speeds into the corners in the region of 100mph.
When the sun sets, fifty of the finest drivers from the weekend will take part in a floodlit drifting demonstration.
The track may appear lit to spectators, but for the drivers it’s a very different story. They need all their skill and
judgement to make sure they are prepared for drifting at night time.
Sunday sees the drifting continue until sunset. There is something for anyone interested in cars, from a beautifully
presented old school E-Type Jaguar to a modern day Toyota GT86.
