A NEWLY-opened restaurant is in the regional finals for the Best Welsh Curry House 2013 competition.

Abul’s Spice’ Indian Restaurant and takeaway in Corwen has been listed in the top ten Indian restaurants in North Wales.

To get to this point they had to offer good quality food in a quality environment and were voted for by customers, who could fill in and send off a voting form or vote online.

Restaurant owner Abul Hussain said he and the staff are very grateful for their customers’ support.

The next stage will see the restaurant receive a visit from a mystery judge at anytime between February 25 and March 22.

This coincides with a promotion that the competition organisers have running between the same dates, which is to promote the use of Welsh Lamb in their recipies.

If they are successful they will be named as one of the top three Curry houses in Wales.

The announcement will take place live on Jason Mohammed’s mid-morning programme on BBC Radio Wales.

Mr Hussain is also hoping to make Abul’s Spice’ Indian Restaurant a five-star restaurant.
