A MAN was airlifted to hospital after firefighters cut him free from a vehicle.

Three fire crews were called to the scene of the collision involving a single vehicle on the Horseshoe Pass near Llangollen at 4.31pm yesterday.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said it understood there had been “multiple casualties” and crews from Llangollen, Wrexham and Ruthin all responded.

But on arrival they discovered only one person had been injured in the accident between the B5103 junction in Llangollen and the A5104 junction in Llandegla.

Police directed traffic as the road remained closed in the hours following the collision.
