DENBIGHSHIRE County Council’s spending of £1m on outside consultants has come under fire from councillors.
A Freedom of Information request has revealed that the authority has used 219 consultants – costing a total of £1,050,227 – since 2010.
But the council has been criticised for spending money on outside help rather than using in house resources.
County councillor Stuart Davies, pictured right, said: “I am not impressed by the number of consultants that we are using.
“We pay our senior officers good money and they should have the expertise, except in very specialised areas, to be able to give recommendations to councillors.
