Young woman assaulted in Denbigh

THE police are appealing for information and witnesses after a young woman was assaulted.

The incident is believed to have happened at around 5.05pm on Saturday, April 5, as the woman was walking alone along Post Office Lane, Denbigh. A man approached her from behind as she was walking and assaulted her.

Following the assault, the offender ran off up Beacon’s Hill and out of sight.

The offender is described as aged in his early 20’s, of slim build, between 5ft 7’ and 5ft 8’ and was wearing an all grey coloured baggy track suit which he initially wore with the hood up over his head. He is also described as having an oval face, olive complexion, he had dark hair which appeared unkempt.

At around 5pm before the assault took place, two men described as being in their early 50’s walked onto Post Office Lane from the Beacons Hill direction. The men walked towards the victim and would have also passed the offender.

Police investigating are keen to trace the two individuals as they may hold information which could assist in the investigation.
