Man assaulted young woman in Denbigh

Police investigating an assault in Denbigh have today issued an evofit of a man they want to trace in connection with the incident.  

The assault is believed to have happened at around 5.05pm on Saturday, April 5, as the young woman was walking alone along Post Office Lane, Denbigh. A man approached her from behind as she was walking and assaulted her.

  Following the assault, the offender ran off up Beacon’s Hill and out of sight.

The offender is described as aged in his early 20’s, of slim build, between 5ft 7’ and  5ft 8’ and was wearing an all grey coloured baggy track suit which he initially wore with the hood up over his head. He is also described as having an oval face, olive complexion, he had dark hair which appeared unkempt.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who has information relating the assault, who may recognise the man or who may have seen a man matching the description to contact PC 2454 Steve Hooper or his colleagues at Denbigh police station on 101 quoting refenece number RC14049786. Officers are also keen to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity at the time of the incident.
