AN electrical fault is believed to be the cause of the fire at Rhuddlan Golf Club.
Around 20 men and four crews from Rhyl, St Asaph and Prestatyn were called at 5am on Wednesday, August 6, to an outbuilding at the Meliden Road club, and the fire was not under control until 1.42pm.
There was an investigation at the scene and it is believed the fire was caused by an electrical fault, although a spokesperson from the North Wales Fire and Rescue service stated this was “not yet confirmed”.
The buildings contents were completely destroyed by the fire, and the ground floor of the building suffered 60 per cent damage due to smoke.
Nobody was reported to be injured during the incident and the course is still open for business.
