STUDENTS and staff at Ysgol Brynhyfryd are celebrating another excellent set of A-level, WBQ and BTEC results.
All students achieved the level three threshold of two A-level passes or more and 97% of the cohort achieved the Welsh Baccalaureate advanced diploma which is equivalent to an A grade. With the inclusion of the Welsh Baccalaureate almost half of all grades awarded were A* and A.
Amongst the twelve students achieving straight A*/A grades are Haydn Banks who achieved three A* grades and will go on to read Human, Social and Political Sciences at Queen’s College Cambridge, Emily Bamber A*AAA who will read Earth Sciences at Oxford, Undeg Steffan A*AA who will study Modern Languages at Edinburgh and Elen Rowlands A*A*A who will be studying Dentistry at Birmingham. Another outstanding performance was that of Helen Birkill who achieved an A* in Religious Studies, A in Psychology and a Distinction in Health and Social Care. She will be studying Occupational Therapy at Cardiff University.

The vast majority of students who applied achieved their first choice place at University.
“We are delighted with today’s results and want to congratulate all our students on their achievements,” said Headteacher Eleri Jones. “The excellent results reflect their hard work, the dedication of their teachers and the support of their parents. We wish them all the very best for the future and thank them for their outstanding contribution to school life and the wider community during their years at Brynhyfryd.”
