POLICE have released terrifying dashcam footage in the build-up to a fatal collision caused by a man from West Huntspill, Highbridge.

The collision took place in Abergale, north Wales, on November 20, 2021.

Jakedene Loveridge appeared at Mold Crown Court yesterday (Tuesday, December 20), where he was sentenced to six years' imprisonment.

The 23-year-old had earlier pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving following the collision which involved a pedestrian, Ieuan Richard Williams of Pensarn, Abergele.

During the hearing, the court was told that Loveridge was driving a BMW at speed when he collided with Mr Williams, who was walking across the A548 Marine Road in Pensarn at approximately 9.40pm on Saturday, November 20, in Pensarn Abergele.

North Wales Police have released shocking dashcam footage of Loveridge's driving before the fatal incident.

Loveridge did not stop and continued driving. He was later arrested after officers found his vehicle nearby.

Sadly, despite the best efforts of the emergency services, Mr Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the sentencing, Senior Investigating Officer, sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Policing Unit said: “A family have been truly devastated by their loss of a much-loved father and our thoughts are very much with them.

“Although no prison sentence can ever bring Mr Williams back, I do hope that this brings them some closure.

“Jakedene Loveridge had no previous convictions but he is now in prison because of his reckless actions that night. There are no winners here, only life-changing consequences for all involved.”

In addition to his prison sentence, Loveridge was also disqualified from driving for seven years.
