Question: I really like the gothic trend that’s big this winter, but I’m scared that I’ll go too bold with some of the looks and look like Morticia Adams! What should I be buying to get a hint of gothic into my wardrobe?
Anna says: I honestly think it depends on your colouring...especially if you are very fair or have dark brown hair, I would suggest staying away from too much black as the colour contrast is too harsh.
The key to making this trend work, is to think outside the box. Don’t automatically think black is the only way to go.
There are some fabulous gothic items in purple/fuschia, dark red, navy blue and cream this season.
Play them down by mixing them with more classic and simple pieces and rely on accessories like rhinestones, feathers and oversized cuffs to convey a more elegant and sophisticated take on the gothic trend!
