DELYN MP David Hanson is championing a scheme to help elderly people cope with the digital switchover.

Mr Hanson is supporting the Communities Programme – a help scheme run in collaboration with Age Concern North East Wales to provide help and advice for older and disabled people to make the switch to digital TV following the Moel y Parc transmitter ‘going digital’ on October 28 2009.

Mr Hanson said: “Television forms an important part of many older and disabled people’s lives and it is the most important way for many of them to receive information about the outside world.

“The process of changing from analogue to digital TV could be distressing for some people.

"The Communities Programme is a fantastic way to ensure everybody who needs help will receive it.”

Anybody who needs help with the switchover can call Age Concern on 08450549969.

Instead of yet another photo call; can we have a comment from Mr Hanson on his North Wales Prison debacle?

Is Mr Hanson the one on the right?
