Venue Cymru, Llandudno
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
HE’S behind you!
Venue Cymru once again brings panto to Llandudno in the form of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
This years show has an all star cast including Llanrhaeadr’s very own Mark Evans and Strictly Come Dancing judge - Craig Revel Horwood.
Craig, who is known for his reputation of being the harshest of the judges on Strictly does not dissapoint as his role of the Wicked Queen.
With his outrageous costumes, cackle, and banter with the audience he manages to score a very credible dix points!
Mark plays the role of the prince, and it is easy to see why his talents have took him so far in theatre as he belts out songs and waltzes around the floor, even if it is with Craig in a dress!
Snow White is played by Gemma James who has to live with her wicked aunt; falls in love with the prince, lives with dwarfs in the forest and bites a poisonous apples...all in a days work.
Liverpool comedian John Evans plays Muddles (the funny one who entertains us whilst the cast are getting changed!).
He manages to get children, and bigger children, laughing out of their seats.
Muddles isn’t the only Liverpool comedian in the panto, step forward...Paul O’Grady!
Paul plays the part of all the Wicked Queen’s powers - the Mirror, but, don’t get too excited Paul’s parts are all pre-recorded.
But still, its Paul O’Grady in Llandudno!
West End star Ian Dring plays the part of Chambers.
The Seven Dwarfs were the highlight of my evening, made all the more special as they were plaid by talented youngsters from a nearby dance school.
The show plays panto to a tee, full of boos and hisses, a man in drag, the comedy guy, the good looking prince and the beautiful princess.
Along with a magnificent set, including the Seven Dwarfs house, and glamorous costumes - and I’m only talking about Craig’s, this is panto at its best.
The one part that caused me some confusion was the appearance of TV canine Churchill and the singing girl from the Lloyd’s advert.
Very random, but the children seemed to love it!
Staged by Qdos Entertainment, the world’s largest pantomime producer, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will have the Venue Cymru’s hallmark of quality entertainment for all the family.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs runs for a three weeks at Llandudno’s Venue Cymru from now until to Sunday, January 3.
