THE annual Newbra Tournament at Flint saw entries increased from last year.

Deeside players dominated the results with Christian Pistor and Ashley Oxborough handing out a lesson to club mate Lee Billington and Paul McCracken (Denbigh) to win the men’s doubles.

In league action, Division Two leaders Buckley are now 10 points ahead of nearest rivals Rossett, while bottom-placed Ruthin received another crushing defeat, this time an 8-0 drubbing at the hands of Denbigh.

Denbigh then wrapped up a convincing 6-2 win against Holywell with player of the match Martin Gould excelling in both his events.

Llanfair DC’s White Horse continue to find the going tough, losing 8-0 to Holywell.

Only three points separate Division Three leaders Deeside from second-placed Mold, while Llanferres look wooden spoon contenders with just five points to show after seven matches.

Llangollen were let down by their male players in the 6-2 defeat against home team Mold.
