AT the dawn of a new decade you would imagine that the idea of having to draw peoples’ attention to an age old problem may be unnecessary but sadly that is just what I feel obliged to do.
The massive increase in the amount of dog fouling in the streets of Denbigh since the turn of the new year is bordering on outrageous.
I have been made aware of over five different areas of Denbigh where the selfish act of leaving dog mess for others to clean up has increased to new lengths.
I only have to walk down my own street this week to see numerous piles of the stuff left by bad owners, as it is unfair to blame the animals on this subject.
As a footnote I would be quick to praise the vast majority of owners who do clean up after their dogs.
To the ones who can't be bothered to act in a reasonable way I would ask them to consider their behaviour as it is both unlawful and can leave others open to all manner of diseases.
At the end of the day people who have dogs have a moral duty to clean up after there pets and if this duty is beyond them then maybe 2010 should be the year they decided that being a dog owner is not for them.
That would indeed solve an age old problem overnight!.
