LLANDRINDOD Wells gave promotion contenders Cambrian a fright before a second-half comeback saw them capitulate.

Fly-half Julian Huntley kicked an early penalty for the visitors, only for Llandrindod Wells to storm back straight away.

A strong run by the Spa side’s openside flanker Tom Hughes, allowed scrum-half Dale Wilson to dart over for a try, with full-back Matthew Fletcher ably converting.

Llandrindod were similarly dominant at the start of the second half with Fletcher increasing the home side's lead with a penalty.

However Llandrindod rested on their laurels as Cambrian came back in the closing stages.

Richie Lewis and Gavin Thomas both crossed for tries, with Huntley converting to hand Cambrian Welfare the spoils.
