TWO of Rhyl’s most promising young rugby players starred for the Welsh Students
Rugby League team in Limerick, Ireland.

Kriss Wilkes (left) and Dale Blackmore, who came through the very successful Rhyl juniors and youth Sections at Rhyl RFC and play for Rhyl Coasters rugby league side, were picked to play for Wales after weeks of regional trials and training.

Wales finished second in the four-way tournament after losing the first game against England, who had several Super League players in their squad.

They recovered to beat Ireland and Scotland, with the players receiving praise from coaches for their contribution to the success.
