Where did that go?

THIEVES were left disappointed after pinching a car-park meter... there was less than £10 inside.

The meter, one of three in the Green Lane car park, Corwen, had been emptied by Denbighshire County Council workers on the afternoon that it was stolen.

It is thought that between £5 and £10 was inside.

County councillor for Corwen Huw Jones said he was “bemused” by the incident.
“I don’t know what’s going on with this one,” he said.

“All the other machines have been left alone in the car park, so if it was someone with a vendetta against a charge or something then they would damage the whole lot of them.”

A council spokeswoman said: “We are in the process of replacing it and investigating whether further security measures are necessary.”

Police said the meter had been recovered and they are appealing for witnesses to the theft.
