DENBIGH Town U-13s breezed into the fourth round of the NWCFA Cup after capitalising on a perfect start against St Asaph Saints.
Centre forward Ifan Jones scored before two minutes were up as Denbigh went on to win 10-0.
There were hat-tricks for Tom Evans and Ifan Jones, while man of the match Bongi Mashaba (2) and Adam Jones (2) completed the scoring.
Despite the heavy defeat there were some good performances from the St Asaph players.
Saints’ full backs Elliott Bryan and Jake Brookes worked very hard and midfielder Sam Lyons also impressed.
The morning after November 5 saw Denbigh Sharks U-12s explode into life from the kick-off against Aztecs Panthers to score after 23 seconds through Deio Clwyd.
Gwion Bibby made it two, and then central defender Cian Breeze-Jones won the ball on the edge of his own box and started a sweeping Shark attack!
Five sublime passes later and Owen Pearce finished off a fine team goal.
Panthers struck twice to cut the gap, but thanks to resolute defending and great tackling from man of the match Aled Roberts, the Sharks won 3-2.
Denbigh Lions U-12s claimed a 6-2 win at home to Hearts Harriers.
Two goals from man of the match Daniel Lewis, plus one apiece from Louis Roberts and Andrew Thomas gave Denbigh a 4-0 half-time lead.
The second half started badly for Denbigh with Hearts pulling two goals back.
Denbigh regained their composure and soon restored their three-goal advantage with a well-taken Scott Griffiths penalty after Daniel Lewis was floored.
An own goal made it 6-2, while the final word belonged to Hearts with their third goal.
Denbigh Town U-9s gave a fine performance during their 4-2 loss at Prestatyn Athletic.
Tom Kelly scored a wonderful goal for Denbigh and Joel Rowlands scored the other.

We reported that Denbigh’s first goal was scored by Ashley Andrews, when in fact it was Daniel Whitfield who netted.
This was Daniel’s first goal from open play in over a year.
