H M Stanley
Henry Morton Stanley, was born John Rowlands in Denbigh.
Stanley, who fought in the American Civil War, became a New Yor
k Herald reporter in 1867 and travelled
to Africa in 1869 to seek out missing explorer Doctor David Livingstone.
And upon finding him in 1871, Stanley uttered the immortal words, "Doctor Livingstone, I presume?"

Rob Higgitt
Scarlets-bound Rob Higgitt has been a mainstay of the Bristol rugby side for a number of seasons.
The Ruthin-born centre will swap the Guinness Premiership for the Magners League this summer as he makes the move from Bristol to the Llanelli Scarlets.
Rob has been a key component of the Bristol squad for five seasons, playing well over 100 league games for the club.

Christopher Timothy
Bala-born Christopher Timothy is most famous for his role as country vet James Herriott in All Creatures Great and Small.
Christopher lived in Bala until the age of five and in 2000 he was cast as Dr Brendan "Mac" McGuire in the TV series Doctors, staying with the show for six years.
