A monthly look at wildlife and conservation in North Wales with Kate Burgess, biodiversity officer for Denbighshire County Council



SPRING is a hectic time of year for wildlife with mates to find, nests to build and eventually young to be born and raised.

It is also a busy time for conservationists and ecologists as it is when we do the majority of our surveying and monitoring - when the wildlife is more conspicuous and distracted.

One of my highlights of April is getting up very early in the morning to climb the hills of the Clwydian Range in search of Black Grouse.
