Plans for a major fireworks display at Denbigh Castle on November 5 are well advanced and members of Denbigh Town Council have heard about the most recent developments of the fireworks working group.
In a report to the council, members were told that a successful meeting with Denbighshire County Council's highways department and North Wales Police had taken place.
The county council agreed to waive the street closure fee as its contribution to the event.
According to the report: "The junction of Love Lane and Castle Street and the junction of Bull Lane and Hall Square (are) to be closed off.
"Marshal(s) will be required at both junctions and access for residents of the castle area and the disabled will be allowed."
Steve Williams, representing the ambulance service and Denbigh Show on the committee, reported that a volunteer crew and ambulance would be available at the event, however it was suggested that the Red Cross and St John Ambulance also be present to deal with any minor injuries.
Alwyn Dowell, of Ruthin fireworks company UpRoar, provided an update to the risk assessment, which will be ongoing, while Susan Muse reported that Denbigh Business Group will try and organise events to bring people into the town before the display.
Denbigh Round Table, Denbigh Rotary Club, Clwb Rygbi Dinbych and Denbigh Town Council will provide in the region of 40 marshals for the display and the police will arrange for two or three PCSOs to be on duty.
Previously, Denbigh Town Council agreed to fund the big bonfire night celebration to the tune of £3,200 and at the latest working group meeting, CADW's Stacey Birkett confirmed that the heritage body would assist with funding.
At the end of the working group meeting, it was suggested that leaflets should be prepared to inform residents in the castle area of road closures.
