PREPARE for the noise and spectacle of a clash of arms if you head to Bodelwyddan Castle this weekend.

A traditional medieval festival is being held, complete with traders and craftsmen on August 9 and 10.

There will be a living history encampment to explore, as well as a packed programme of arena displays and demonstrations including a sword fighting tourney, a plaisance, archery, falconry, story telling, artillery firepower display, skills of the mounted knight, juggling,
and a daily battle orchestrated by Fox Turner from the Poor Knights of St Dysmas and based on the 1468 incursion into North Wales by William Herbert, Earl of Pembroke on behalf of King Edward IV and its defence by Dafydd ap Siencyn, Welsh hero and Lancastrian captain.

There are also side shows, craft demonstrations, and a variety of traders to provide retail therapy, good quality caterers, and the famous Trollsbotton Beer Tent complete with scary wenches!

Ten per cent of all profits will be donated to Hope House Children's Hospice.
