IT was a case of ready, steady, cook for hundreds of youngsters and their parents at primary schools in Bolton.
Kearsley West Primary and Queensbridge Primary in Farnworth took part in the national Cookathon competition designed to get children to get cooking.
Parents and pupils took to the schools’ kitchens for a day to create tasty food, ranging from smoothies to scones.
The event was part of the Government’s Let’s Get Cooking programme to reduce obesity among children and to help them develop healthier lifestyles.
The schools will find out in the coming weeks if they have reached the regional heat of the Cookathon — winners will be the schools which had the most cooks taking part in the event.
