WITH petrol and diesel prices set to crash through the £1.50 a litre barrier this autumn, the Free Press reveals the cheapest and most expensive prices in North Wales.





The soaring cost of petrol and diesel comes as the biggest producers Shell and BP announced profits of £7billion for the first three months of 2008.

It has been exactly five months since the first Free Press survey of prices from Denbighshire and parts of Gwynedd, Conwy, Flintshire and Wrexham, when the price of petrol had broken the £1 barrier.

And now with the price of unleaded petrol breaking the £5 a gallon mark (equivalent to 109.9p) in parts of the UK, a second survey has been carried out, covering Denbighshire and parts of Gwynedd.
