Zoo helps to save county's emblem

CHESTER Zoo is justly known for its work with rare and endangered animals.





Now the zoo, the largest in the UK, has turned its hand to helping an altogether different sort of threatened species – a plant.

Found in only three places in the UK, the Limestone Woundwort (Stachys alpina) is considered nationally rare and is protected in the UK under the Wildlife and Countryside Act.
