The North Wales Model Vehicle Show returned to Bala in 2018 after being cancelled last year.

More than 40 entrants entered the show, held at Ysgol y Berwyn, covering about 85 tables with their inventions, models, dioramas and displays.

Event organisers, Meirionnydd Vintage Tractor & Engine Club secretary Allen Main said people came from all over Wales, including as far away as Nottingham, to take part in the event.

Exhibits included scale models of farms, steam engines, technical Lego displays, RNLI lifeboat memorabilia and a scale model of a 1940's fairground operated by compressed air.

He said: "It was a success but numbers were slightly down because last year we had to cancel the event because of building operations at the school.

"We are trying to rebuild the event. we were about eight or 10 exhibitors down on 2016 but it will take a bit of time to build it back up."

Awards were given out across the weekend for some of the best exhibits at the show.

Stoke-on-Trent''s Dave Arthur took out the best in show award on the Sunday, having won best diorama on the Saturday.

Bala entrants Cain Jones and Gareth Roberts tied for the best under 16 displays while Ian Williams (Caernarfon), Herin Jones (Harlech) and Steven Adams (mid-Wales) took out the awards for best individual exhibit, best hand made exhibit and best display respectively.
