SAN Marino will be the destination for Bala Town during their next European adventure.

Yesterday (Tuesday) witnessed the draw for the preliminary round of the 2018-19 UEFA Europa League in Geneva.

The Lakesiders were one of the seeded clubs in the draw and they were paired with SP Tre Fiori.

Immediately following the draw, Bala Town manager Colin Caton said: "We have got people scanning the internet now finding out about them and we will get information from the Welsh FA.

"We will see once they have come up with the information what they are like.

"Last year, when we drew a team from Liechtenstein, people said it would be an easy draw, but they were playing in the top flight of the Swiss League.

"It's going to be tough and we will give it everything we have got."

Tre Fiori are likely to host the first leg at their Stadio di Fiorentino ground on June 28.

The return leg, which will be played in Rhyl, is set to be played on Thursday, July 5.

In the 2017–18 Campionato Sammarinese di Calcio, Tre Fiori qualified for the end of season play-offs after finishing third in Group B.

They were third in the play-offs, which was enough to secure Europa League qualification.

Tre Fiori last played in Europe during the 2011-12 season, losing out 5-1 on aggregate in the first qualifying round of the Champions League against Valletta, of Malta.

Caton added: "Training has gone really well and the new lads have mixed well and bedded in really well.

"They have raised the bar with everything about training.

"It's going to be tough to get into the starting line-up for the Europa games."
