A FORMER carer has been barred from working with vulnerable people or children for the foreseeable future after admitting kissing a woman with a mental disorder.

Ryan Linden Williams, of Hendre, Cynwyd, near Corwen, will also have to register as a sex offender for five years following a sentencing hearing at Mold Crown Court.

Williams, 29, had earlier denied two other charges dating back to August and September of 2016, alleged to have occurred in the Mold area, which involved fondling and penetration, and was cleared of those charges by a jury at Mold court.

The court heard Williams, who was also handed a community order for two years with 40 days rehabilitation, had a previous conviction for assault and battery against a woman, committed after the other offences in December 2016, for which he went to prison for a short time.

Oliver King, defending, said his client had been going through some personal problems and had been feeling vulnerable.

Sentencing, Judge Rhys Rowlands said: “She (the victim) was suffering from a mental illness and was vulnerable and you took advantage of that when you look at communications on Facebook.

"You did have some experience and would have known what to expect in that position, but you let yourself down.

"You lost your job and now have little prospect of working with vulnerable or children.”

Williams must pay court costs of £300 and a victim surcharge of £85.
