AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a 17-year-old was allegedly verbally abused by three men in a car.

The incident happened around 4.15pm yesterday. Three men, in a grey Audi with tinted windows, were heard making "lewd comments" to a teenager from Denbigh.

According to the teenager's mother, her daughter was walking down Smithfield Road in Denbigh yesterday when a car with three passengers with Manchester accents shouted at her to get in the car.

When her daughter refused, the car then drove off before returning and shouting continued.

She added her daughter had been left "petrified" and encouraged parents to make others aware of the incident and to report any further issues.

Andy Kirkham, inspector for North Wales Police, said: “ We received a report yesterday May 9 at 4.38pm of a motorist acting suspiciously in Smithfield Road Denbigh.

“He allegedly made lewd comments to a young female pedestrian , who ignored him. He drove off and no one was harmed.

“If anyone has information or witnessed any suspicious vehicle in the area, possibly a grey BMW, please call 101 quoting reference W060398.”
