A MUM and her little girl are appealing for the return of their dog - one year on.

Lauren Elizabeth Cleary's "much loved" chocolate Labrador, Poppy, went missing from the outskirts of Denbigh last June. She is suspected stolen.

At the time of her disappearance, it is thought Poppy was pregnant.

Lauren, who has daughter Harper, 4, said: "With pedigree chocolate Labradors, I believe this could be the motive to why she was taken.

"If you have bought a Labrador puppy please think whether you recognise Poppy as the mother or maybe you weren’t allowed to see the mother?

"It has been nearly a year since she went missing, but I was hoping to refresh people's memories.

"She is the most beautiful chocolate Labrador.

"We miss her an indescribable amount and my four year old still asks, a year later, if Poppy is playing in the woods? I didn't know how else to tell her that she was gone."

Lauren, of Groes, said Poppy is from Grange-over-Sands.

She added: "Her breeder and I still check selling pages most days as we try to find her.

"I took her to Burnley to breed her with another chocolate Labrador several days prior to her disappearance, so I've always questioned if this is a motive.

"We are absolutely heartbroken without her."
