A CHILDREN'S TV favourite is to make an appearance at a town railway station.

This weekend, March 24 and 25, children visiting the Peppa Pig event at Llangollen Railway will be asked to take part in a Peppa Pig’s Muddy Puddle Walk for Save the Children.

Last year saw 160,000 children across the UK take part, raising an incredible £243,000 for Save the Children’s vital work, and this year the charity hopes even more people will sign up, take part and donate.

The children will walk part of the way along Platform Two at Llangollen Station to raise money for Save the Children and help make life better for children around the world.

By raising money for Save the Children, Llangollen Railway will help support their work to give every last child the chance to learn, play and grow up healthy and happy. Millions of children around the world are missing out on this – just because of where they are born.

Nicky Jenkinson, an administrator at the railway, said: “As soon as I heard that Save the Children were encouraging people to raise vital funds to support children across the globe through staging Muddy Puddle Walks I thought what a great opportunity it would be to try and raise funds while Peppa Pig herself is here at the Railway.

"We will be asking those who complete the Muddy Puddle Walk to make a donation to the charity.

"Those who do make it to the end will receive a certificate proving that they are a 'Muddy Puddle Walker', it will be very exciting walking alongside the trains as they leave the station for the magic show at Carrog”.

By taking part in a Muddy Puddle Walk, children who visit the event will continue to discover how much fun it is to explore the world around them.

The Llangollen Railway Muddy Puddle Walk will be open to Peppa Pig ticket holders only, tickets may be purchased by visiting their website www.llangollen-railway.co.uk

Sophie Pirouet, fundraising campaigns manager at Save the Children, says: “We hope everyone will get outside this Spring, come rain or shine, and help raise much needed funds for Save the Children. It’s so easy to take part and it’s the perfect excuse to explore the outdoors with your little ones. By jumping in muddy puddles like Peppa Pig and raising money for Save the Children you can help give children a brighter future.”
