THERE was plenty of fun as a beloved children's TV character joined joined families for a trip on a historic railway.

Llangollen Railway welcomed a host of parents and children over the weekend for Peppa Pig's Muddy Puddle Walk for Save the Children.

The children walked part of the way along Platform Two at Llangollen Station to raise money for Save the Children, with those who complete the walk being asked to make a donation to the charity.

They also received a Muddy Walker certificate in recognition of their efforts.

Last year saw 160,000 children across the UK take part in the Muddy Puddle Walk, raising £243,000 for Save the Children’s work.

The walk was part of a weekend of activities, where youngsters met Peppa Pig at the Henry Robertson Suite before taking train rides to Corwen and on to Carrog to see a magic show. There was also facepainting at platform one.
