TWO burglaries at ATMs in Ruthin and Llangollen that took place within half an hour of each other are thought to be linked.
The first incident happened at about 1.50am on Tuesday April 10, when three offenders in a dark coloured vehicle attacked the ATM machine at the McColls Shop on Denbigh Road in Ruthin.
Detective inspector of St Asaph Criminal Investigation Department, Simon Kneale, said: “It would appear that cutting equipment was used at this location but the offenders were unsuccessful in their attempts before they made off in their vehicle.”
A short time later, at about 2.20am, the Spar Shop on Castle Street in Llangollen was attacked. The offenders again used cutting equipment to access the ATM within the store and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
“We believe at this time that both incidents are linked and have been carried out by the same offenders,” Insp Kneale said.
North Wales Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of either location in the early hours of this morning, especially if you happened to be driving through the area with a Dashcam.
