A motorcyclist is in a critical condition after a serious road collision on the A5 in Llangollen on Tuesday.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 2.43pm after the motorcycle collided with a lamppost and wall.

No other vehicles were involved.

Two ambulances and an air ambulance arrived to assist, with the man being airlifted to hospital in Stoke.

He remains in a critical condition.

The road was closed for several hours following the incident.

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Policing Unit said: "Our enquiries are now underway and we are appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or to anybody who may have been travelling along that particular stretch of road at the time of the collision and who may have dash cam footage to contact us.”
