A MAN has died two weeks after being taken to hospital following a crash near Corwen.

The crash - involving a dark coloured Ford Mondeo and a grey Volkswagen campervan - happened on the A5 Glasfryn near Corwen at about 9.20am on Wednesday, June 6.

The driver of the Ford Mondeo was airlifted to hospital airlifted to hospital in Stoke with serious injuries where he currently remains.

The driver and passenger of the campervan were taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital by ambulance but the driver died on Saturday (June 16).

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Policing Unit said: "Sadly this is now being investigated as a fatal road traffic collision and our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this sad time.

"Our investigation is ongoing and we continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision. Anybody with information is asked to contact us as soon as possible."

The road was closed for seven hours following the incident.
