PRIMARY schools across Denbighshire have participated in this year’s St David’s Day on March 1.
The day of the Patron Saint saw schools celebrate Welsh culture of past and present in different ways.
Ysgol Rhewl dressed in traditional Welsh clothing and made Welsh cakes; Ysgol Trefnant learned how to make Welsh rarebit and held a daffodil-drawing competition judged by the Council. Ysgol Gellifor—whose Year 5 and 6 classes recently reached the Eistedfodd regional finals—combined St David’s Day with World Book Day to celebrate Welsh authors, while Ysgol Bryn Collen dressed in yellow to represent the colours of St David’s flag.
While some schools were forced to close due to the snow, those that were able to remain open have shared photos of their fun and activities on Wales' favourite day.
