BALA 39

BETHESDA 5

WHILE the scoreline suggests otherwise, Bethesda made Bala work hard for their latest WRU League Division One (North) success.

The men from Maes Gwyniad only secured a winning bonus point in the closing minutes of the encounter, but the win saw them close the gap on leaders Nant Conwy to seven points.

Rhydian Jones crossed the whitewash twice for Bala, who were 18-0 ahead at the interval.

Further tries were supplied by Chris Roberts, skipper Ilan Rowlands and Iwan Morris.

Adding to the tally, Owain Aled kicked two penalties and four conversions.

"It was comfortable, but we had to work hard," said Bala chairman Tony Parry.

"Bethesda were hard to break down, but we kept at it and scored some lovely tries."
