DENBIGH TOWN LADIES 2

PWLLHELI 4

THE hosts will be wondering how they ended up getting nothing from this game after dominating possession and creating enough chances to gain at least a draw.

Two minutes in Denbigh's reshuffled defence was breached for the first time by a quick Pwllheli break and Bess Roberts made it 1-0.

Far from discouraged, Denbigh got themselves on the front foot and the pattern of the game developed, with the home team dominating possession and territory, while Pwllheli defended well and broke quickly.

Lexie Smith and Chelsea Williams went close to levelling, but Denbigh fell further behind on 20 minutes when Lois Thomas struck.

After Lexie Smith, Emma Roden and Joanna McKinney went close, Denbigh finally gained some reward for their efforts on 40 minutes as Elen James Owen struck.

The second half began the same as the first, with Denbigh conceding within the first couple of minutes. Lois Thomas scored her second.

The game was now being played almost entirely in the Pwllheli half as the home side dominated, with Emma Roden, Chelsea Williams, Mared Roberts and Jenny Davies all being foiled in one-on-one situations.

To compound matters, Lois Thomas completed her hat-trick in the 65th minute.

Denbigh continued to dominate and they bagged another goal in the 80th minute.

Following a succession of corners, the ball fell to Jenny Davies at the far post and she bundled it over the line.
