RHEWL 2

YSCEIFIOG 0

TWO stunning strikes mean that Rhewl will enter the second portion of the Summer League season with confidence.

It's now five wins for Sion Roberts' side following their 2-0 home win over battling Caerwys - and Rhewl are just five points behind leaders Henllan with half of the season left to complete.

Ysceifiog went closest to opening the scoring in the first half, with home keeper Dave Carroll twice coming to his side's rescue.

He tipped over a dangerous free kick and then denied the dangerous Mike Guest when he was clean through.

Rhewl claimed the lead in the 47th minute when Ian Williams curled a peach of an effort from the edge of the box into the top corner.

Ten minutes later and the hosts doubled their advantage.

Harri Owen's stunning 25-yard free kick was the second strike of the evening destined for the top corner.
