PONTBLYDDYN 2NDS 178-4
DENBIGH 2NDS 177
DESPITE a sparkling century from John Lee Rowlands, it turned out to be a losing North Wales Cricket League weekend for Denbigh 2nds.
Rowlands was in excellent form with the blade as the visiting side batted first, but this wasn't enough to stop Pontblyddyn 2nds from recording a six-wicket success.
Denbigh were bowled out for 177 during their innings, with opener Rowlands hitting a majestic 108.
Jon Eccles (18) and Archie Sussex (11) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures, as Richard Davies (3-20) and James Hughes (3-27) did the bulk of the damage with the ball.
The home side wasted little time in chasing down their victory target and they had more than 12 overs to spare when they reached a winning 178-4.
David Foulkes (69), James Hughes (41 not out) and George Forgrave (37) were the main contributors.
Among the wickets for Denbigh were Stuart Moulden (2-27), Archie Sussex (1-11) and Simon Williams (1-32).
